Millions of people use TeamViewer on Android to remotely control their own computers and those of others, to provide support, hold online meetings and manage files on the remote computer.
TeamViewer for android – remote computer control
TeamViewer allows you to control computers remotely from your smartphone. Wherever you are, you can access and control your PCs using the mobile app, just like using TeamViewer from your desktop or laptop.
To use this program, you must be a TeamViewer user and have the client software installed on the computer that you want to control, but this is free. You don’t even need to register for a free account to use this app. You can simply use the provided TeamViewer ID and your own password to access your computer from your Android device.
The TeamViewer Android remote control application has a much simplified version of the regular program controls in the toolbar. The program works much the same as the standard version, but with one or more significant differences: you control the cursor and mouse buttons of the remote PC with different taps of your finger.
For example, tapping with one finger triggers a single click, while tapping with two fingers triggers a right-click. Double tapping and holding the items allows us to drag them, and scrolling involved dragging with two fingers up or down.
How to use the app
We logged in by entering the unique ID provided by the TeamViewer client installed on our target PC, as well as our password. Closing the instructions on the phone screen showed the desktop of our remote PC. We have successfully opened and closed programs including the control panel, our web browser, and office applications. The cursor movement was smooth on our smartphone and slightly more choppy – but still accurate and with very little latency – on the remote PC. The application menu allows us to restart and lock our computer, type Ctrl-Alt-Del and perform other tasks.
The TeamViewer Mobile app turns the “remote” into a remote control, allowing you to control your PC literally wherever you have internet access from your smartphone. This is by far the simplest of its kind that we have tried, even for beginners.
